Street Railing Add-on Design Competition 2018

Poster

The Street Railing Add-on Design Competition (the Competition) is developed from the concept of urban hacking, which refers to initiatives (in any kind of form e,g. public art or ad-hoc urban furniture) that challenge the existing pattern/form of the city, allowing the public to rethink the possibility of public space. It is meant to be creative, easy-to-understand and inspirational. It is one approach of Urban Tacticalism that could effectively inspire the public the potential of different types of public spaces. This competition will be the first design competition themed public space and urban hacking in Hong Kong. It is not merely a regular design competition but a project to promote re-imagination of “street as public spaces”.
