The 2nd Hong Kong Public Space Symposium “Housing Our Public Space”

Project Descriptions

Date: 28th June 2014 (Sat)
Time: 2:00pm – 6:00pm
Venue: Mr. and Mrs. Sze Chi Ching Lecture Theatre , City University of Hong Kong
Project Nature: Symposium / Forum

With an attendance of over 300 people, the symposium explored the relationship between limited housing supply and public space, under the backdrop of increasing demand for housing. Our guest speakers discussed the following topics during the event:

  • In old districts undergoing redevelopment, would the limited recreational areas be converted into residential use?
  • Would privately owned public spaces still work in the new development areas?
  • Would public spaces in new public housing projects be able to leverage the success of those in old public housing estates?
